If you are looking for a prime location with diversity that provides the convenience of city sewage and water, Paths of Deerfield is the perfect sub-division. After shopping around and doing my homework I decided that Ideal Suburban Homes was the best builder for me. I appreciated that I could modify the floor plan to fit my needs. I was also very impressed with the craftsmanship of the various teams that worked on my home.
I have been in my house for about six months and when the normal new house issues occur Ideal Suburban Homes responds quickly. They cater to their clients. When looking for our first home we considered Ideal Suburban Homes’ Villa living. As a young couple, this was clearly the best option to become homeowners at an affordable level, while getting everything we need and so much more in a home. The Villa is spacious, quality built, and exceeds our expectations as first time buyers. Paths of Deerfield is a great community to live in; being quiet, friendly, and conveniently located. Hey friend, if you’re considering building a new home soon, we would like to share our journey with you. We have been living in our new home built by Ideal Homes, for about 6 weeks. Our home was always kept on schedule and after 3 ½ months we moved in. When we started looking for a builder, we wanted quality craftsmanship, an affordable floor plan, and a builder who’s well established with integrity. We’ve owned several older homes throughout the years and this is our 3rd new one. We felt very confident with Ideal’s Builder Representative, Allen Felt. His 50 years of knowledge and experience made it easier to choose the perfect home for us. We were very impressed with the team concept they use to develop all the construction plants, it allowed us to tap into their skilled group knowledge. We were equally impressed with their financial coordinator, Kim Davis. It didn’t take us long to realize she was one of the key people to Ideal’s success. Her wonderful communication skills helped assure our confidence in Ideal’s commitment to making it easy to build and own an Ideal Home.
One burden we weren’t looking forward to was going to multi locations to decide on all the accessories. Choosing Ideal solved that problem by offering a full array of products displayed at their office. Other builders gave us prices on a similar home, but they were about 30% higher. They also use multi sub-contractors, and we’ve found that the more sub-contractors, the less accountability, making it easier to play, pass the buck! In the past, some smaller companies have gone out of business and so there goes your warranty. We found it very easy to work with their experienced in-house designer Chuck Foehl, making all the desired changes to our plans. We used a few upgrade packages and chose better windows. We decided to install wood stained doors and trim that added more elegance to our home, and were well pleased with the look. Ideal’s jobsite supervisor, Jason Lockwood, was very knowledgeable and extremely easy to communicate with. He was very polity and attentive to our questions or problems during construction. All the building crews displayed high skill levels and their team workforce make it easy to make any changes or improvements during the construction stages as well. Ideal chose to use one mechanical contractor instead of multi and that makes it better to get something changed, or corrected if there’s a problem in the future, not to mention they worked well together on the jobsite.

Hi, my name is Glenn and my wife's name is Helga. I'd like to tell you a little story about our weekly Sunday afternoon rides. After church on Sundays my wife and I like to drive past Tiger's Retreat, a little villa addition that Ideal Construction is building in our community. On one of these afternoons I said to my wife, "Let's drive through." So we did and found that Ideal had built a villa with a loft, which they hadn't done there before, and my wife was excited. We checked out the model home, and then introduced ourselves to the sales rep, and I told her "I got to have me one of these."
We decided to build from scratch instead of buying one that was already built and for sale. We like the villas in our addition, but we wanted a lot of little changes that we thought would be convenient to our life style. This is when we met the design team: Chuck, Paul, Kim and Jason, who made us feel confident that the things that were important to us would be a priority. We had many discussions, many emails, and many drawings, but we finally hammered out what we thought might be the best villa Ideal ever built. And then the work began.
They excavated our lot, brought in gravel, put forms up and poured concrete. It was pretty cool to watch. But for us one of the nicest things was meeting all the different people who worked on our villa. There was something about going to our job site and seeing how many people it took to build our place--electricians, framers, siders, roofers, concrete workers, mechanical workers, finishing workers, painters, etc. By the time it was all over we were on a first name basis with almost everyone, and enjoyed their willingness to listen to our concerns.
My wife and I had never built a home before. We had no experience and really no idea of the process and we were unsure what to do. But Kim got involved and stayed involved with us and made our process probably one of the most fun things my wife and I have ever attempted together. We can't say enough about how much she helped us and made our experience a pleasant one.
On that last day, when our sales rep Deb met us and handed us the keys to our home and we walked through it, we realized something that just months before we didn't think could happen. We had a beautiful home and all our ideas had become reality. It was a fun and exciting experience. Everyone pitched in to make our home beautiful.
A big thanks to all the workers who helped in putting together our new house. It was a 3 year discussion on our part, figuring out how we wanted to build our new home. From the beginning, Deb was a huge help. From the start to the finish of the building process, they all did a fantastic job and we are very thankful for all the time and commitment they’ve put into our home. Anything that we found that was not to our liking, they happily took care of. We wanted it done by a certain time and they had it finished even before then. They were very helpful in every way to make us happy and they do outstanding work. We have now moved into our new home and are quite satisfied with what they have done.

Gary and Jody have made the adjustment well to villa living. Gary and Jody both like their brand new home. Jody commented that having many selections and color choices to choose from made the building process even more fun for her. The interior design is theirs, chosen and designed by them.
"We like being this close to town, but yet it is quiet here. Even with all the new construction going on, you can't hear it inside our home."
Gary and Jody's villa is a 1,556 square foot Traditions I with fireplace and sunroom.
"We have lots of room and found it no problem to scale down from our other home. Our daughter had just gotten married, and so she got a lot of our furniture and items we didn't need."
Gary and Jody are pleased with their decision to move to Tigers Retreat. They feel a sense of security with the neighbors looking our for each other and enjoy the peaceful neighborhood.

John & Jeanne's home is a Traditions I, 1,556 square foot Villa with 2 bedrooms, study and sunroom. John and Jeanne like to travel so living in a Villa Community where lawn care and snow removal is taken care of allows them that freedom. John can now enjoy his golf game instead of moving the yard at home.
"We also have a nice neighborhood. The neighbors look out for each other here. You don't find neighbors like we have here at Tigers Retreat."

Eric and Nancy were one of the first Residents to buy a villa at Tigers Retreat. There are so many things they enjoy about the community itself. Nancy loves to walk with her grandson and "Tigers Retreat is perfect for that," Nancy commented.
"We are close to town, great location, with a great neighborhood."
Their villa is right on the pond with the fountain.
"We enjoy the pond and the fountain. It's nice to site on the patio, watch the water, and listen to the fountain."
Eric was thrilled at the lower energy bills, "It is so much cheaper than what we were paying". This is good construction, with nice prices and many interior choices" Eric futher commented.
Their villa is a Traditions II with 1,432 square feet with a sunroom. Eric and Nancy have done many landscaping items of their choice but "having the exterior maintenance taken care of for you, truly frees up time to enjoy life and hobbies".
I enjoyed building my new villa with Ideal Suburban Homes. They made the process easy! It was nice to always have a key during construction and have access to my new home.
If any issues needed addressed, Paul Conrad was quick to answer questions and kept in touch with me.
I appreciated that communication. While I was designing my home, Rae Jean was always available for questions and gave me helpful suggestions that saved me money.
Someone from Ideal was always available for me.
I like the convenient location of Tigers Retreat, it is close to everything, but has the quietness and feel of living in the country. I enjoy my new home.
I am happy to say that I moved into my new home in the Ravenwood addition in Columbia City and love it! The people at Ideal Suburban Homes were great to work with, along with Nora Ferrell at Orizon Real Estate. Together they were able to help me get just the right home to fit my needs. I am very pleased with the end result and would encourage anyone to take a look at what they have to offer.
Two or three years ago Max and I decided to sell our big house and buy a smaller one. We looked at several and when we looked at the Charleston by Ideal, we know it was the house for us! Easy to care for and it is home to us. We just love it!

We really like the quietness and seclusion of the subdivision. We sit on the patio in the evening it is peaceful and relaxing, we enjoy our villa. Yes, it is close to town, but we still have seclusion and peacefulness. There isn’t anything we don’t like about or villa. We like the roominess of the villa itself with the square footage and the sunroom. The villa is good quality, and the workmanship is fantastic. Any problems or repairs that are needed have been done in a timely fashion, we appreciate that.

She was a widow and her husband a widower until they met 12 years ago. Each had a farm near Fort Wayne and each sold after they viewed an open house at Bluffton where Evelyn showed them around. They liked the feel of the neighborhood both in winter and in summer. It’s friendly and the neighbors are nice to them.
The building experience was great because the builder did just like they said they would. They feel their experience at Sandalwood is unique because both lived on farms before. They like that it’s small, close to the grocery store and the dollar store.
They have three-wheeled bikes they ride every day and say it’s a nice place to ride. They take the side street and cross Hwy 1 and head to the trail where they ride 3 ½ miles every day! They can see the park from their house. The utility bills are reasonable. She say’s “it is wonderful living for us!” They feel the taxes are in line.
We just wanted to say thank you for all of your hardwork planning and building our new home. We moved in just in time for Christmas; it is the best gift ever. I wanted to thank you again. We’ve been living in our beautiful home for about 3 weeks now and it is awesome! It’s beautiful and everyone we have over loves it. We often just sit and marvel at it. Thanks again.
My wife and I have been self employed for some years and have always wanted to have a home of our own. Each time we tried, we were always told we didn’t qualify. Here recently, with the interest rates down and the government giving an $8,000- stimulus incentive, we thought we’d try again.
We contacted Ron Selking at Ideal and he said he was going to get us into a home of our own. He went through the procedure and was told we didn’t qualify, again. We told Ron thanks for trying and we appreciated all he did for us and he immediately replied ‘we don’t give up that easy. . . .you and your wife deserve a home of your own so we are going to try plan B’.
Much to our surprise, he was able to get us qualified and we are finally in our long awaited home. He is our ‘Miracle Worker’.
We are so thankful for Ron and Ideal and all they’ve done. If you need a home, Ron and Ideal are your team!

I would like to express how much I enjoyed working with Marsha Bursey-Ford and Jason Lockwood on my new home. We love our villa at The Paths of Deerfield. It’s a very nice neighborhood and so convenient to everything like shopping and eating but you feel like you are in the country with our woods and watching the deer and the birds from our patio. The quality of our place is exceptional too. We are happy with everything. Anytime we have had to have Ideal to fix something it was addressed immediately or as soon as possible. Our family has been working with Bursey Consultants, Inc. and Ideal Suburban Homes for over a year fixing our credit so that we could buy a home.
Our family has been through, and is currently dealing with, multiple health conditions while living on a fixed income and if it was not for Marsha Bursey-Ford at Bursey Consultants, Inc. and Ron Selking at Ideal we would have never had the opportunity to get into a new home.
